Hi everyone,
    I woke up feeling very ill this morning. I won't be in today but hopefully I'll be back tomorrow. If I'm not back tomorrow, choir will be cancelled. Also, I know I don't have to remind you but ENGLISH ONLY DURING CLASS TIME!

   Could you please complete this work for today?:

9:00- Conversation - Mark

9:45- Finish the Unit in the Purple Grammar Books about "As and Like"

10:45- Breaking News English - these are on my desk I think. There is a news article about the film industry in China. Please read the article, do the Vocabulary, True and False, Synonym Match, Spelling and Word sections. You do not have to do the Discussion sections.

12:30- Continue Breaking News English.

1:00- The Bhutanese students with family in Nepal have invited all of you for a vigil in the parking lot at 1:00. If you like, you can support our students and Goma by praying together. Keep in mind, we all have different religions and faiths so please show respect to one another.

1:45- Please work in groups to brainstorm any questions you have about gardening. Write down all questions and save these for tomorrow. Don't forget that you can use the Oxford Picture Dictionaries for help. My sister will be visiting our class tomorrow at 12:30 so we must be ready for her visit. I will edit your questions in the morning tomorrow if I am feeling better.

     Here is an example of a CSA that operates in PEI. This website also lists the vegetables that are grown by the farm and when the vegetables are ready. There are many CSA's in PEI to choose from so shop around.

Earth Day Activities

Please visit this website and read the news article about the upcoming Earth Day activities at the Holland College. If the weather is good tomorrow, we will visit the Barbeque for lunch and to drop off some old electronics.

I know that I never give you homework but because of our early finish on Thursday, I'd like you to do some homework this weekend:

1st: Write a rough copy of your recipes. Use paper and a pencil. Do not write it on the computer yet. Make sure that you use some of the verbs that we discussed in class. We will edit these on Tuesday.

2nd: I forgot to ask you for your journals before you left. Please make sure that your journals are updated. I will ask for them on Tuesday. Here is a list of the writing you should have in your journals:

• Write about a skill you have that most people don't know about
• Write instructions for playing or doing a sport of your choice
