After, post a comment on the blog and tell me something you learned yesterday.
Yestoday I learned about how to protect apple trees. My husband has grown some fruit trees in my yard this year. We also think about how to help the trees passing the cold winter. Mike's opinion inspired me that I have to do more works with my trees. I think I must study about how to grow trees and open my mind.

The mouse is a big threat to the apple orchard, but the farmer finds a good way to solve. Normally the male mouse find the female mouse by smell as the female mouse has a special smell on it. So the farmer use a special herbal material with the same smell as female mouse and put one in every apple tree. Then, when the male mouse comes, it gets confused and is just like a blind as everywhere is the same smell. This way is safe without any chemical element, but it cost much money.
ReplyDeleteI had a special English class yesterday. We went to visit the Apple Farm and Honey Farm, and that's my first time! I learned many knowledges about apple and honey. There are many ways that I learned from farmer to protect apple trees. In the honey farm, I learned how to get honey. That's so excited for me. I hope that we'll have more special English class.
ReplyDeleteAlthough ,I missed twice to visit the orchard and the honey bee farm ,but I learn more about it from documentary film. That's a easy way to find anything for person! Thanks for Devin 's documentary!
ReplyDeleteYesterday our class went to the farmer orchard for apple u-pick not far wary from Charlottetown. The owner of the orchard introduced many efficient ways to protect the apple trees and the apple during their growing period ,like using the smell, the light , the chemistry powder etc. to drive away insects ,worms , moth and bird and mouse. That was really interesting .
ReplyDeleteBefore I never knew the honey bee workers are the female. I just got a idea about it. I think it is a labor work and very hard so the male must do, that's mean I just thinking in the human way. It is very funny!
